Alberto, this year the company has experienced an internal revolution, with the change of shares and the advent of Varese Sport Entertainment but the contribution and presence of the Consortium are there and will continue to be there…
“We have not finished a cycle, we have, from a certain point of view, perfected it, because we have brought the company where we hoped to arrive sooner or later: that is, to deliver this wonderful toy that we had the honor but also the burden of carry on for a decade, in safer and more competent hands than ours. We are not finished, we are still there, we are a close-knit group and we will continue to bring great passion and all the contribution we can make.”
As a special fan, however, you cannot be happy with the team’s season on the pitch…
“You can’t be absolutely happy with the results of the season, because if I said otherwise I would fail to have a minimum of seriousness. There will be time for analysis, it is clear that we did not start in the best way and it is equally clear that, with the arrival of Mannion, things have improved. We’ve had a Doctor Jekyll and Mister Hyde attitude all year, I don’t know why, but in the championship looking at the standings there are only three victories that separated us from the playoffs, which are a trifle. Then each season is different, they come and go, but the passion that distinguishes us will never fail and we will always be ready to give support. Now comes the most important part of the year, because these two months of the transfer market are decisive.”
President Bulgheroni said not to always highlight only the negative things about Varese Basketball, do you agree?
“This is an answer you journalists have to give me. What I can say is that we as a Consortium have contributed significantly and without being too harsh to keep this wonderful reality alive. It is equally true that there is work, perseverance, daily planning which unfortunately ends up having to deal with the unpredictability of some seasons, just think of this year at Bologna which will get into the places to play the Champions League League. This is to say that when evaluating the seasons this must also be taken into account, then there are years that go well and years that go worse but we all love Varese Basketball and we will continue to give it support.”
