PALERMO – Come backfor the seventeenth year the Antiracist Mediterranean. Various sports such as football, basketball, volleyball, cricket, athletics, dance and martial arts are scheduled in different neighborhoods of Palermo to promote the values ​​of social inclusion and the right to sport and play.

This year the theme will be “Escape Routes”. Mediterraneo Antiracista is a sporting, artistic and cultural event, organized by over 20 city entities including associations, schools, parishes and collectives, whose first edition took place in Palermo in June 2008.

Program of events

The “A kick to racism” tournament will start on Friday 10th and will also take place on Saturday 11 May in Piazza Magione, a place of extreme importance for the fight to conquer popular sport in public space: in 2013 the public football pitch risked becoming a dog walking area, thanks to the intervention of the associations, the school and the inhabitants, it remained a pitch open to all.

Then the event, “A kick to racism”, will continue on May 19th in Catania. On May 24th “Balkan football club” will be presented at booq; on the morning of May 28th the “Speroniadi”, the ICS Sperone-Pertini Olympics, will be held at the Foro Italico; on May 31st at Sperone; on June 1st there will be a grand opening party with team registrations starting, presentation and party in Piazza Mediterraneo with “Anima Ballarò special edition”.

We continue on June 2nd with “Mammaliturchi”, the stop at the Foro Italico; from 13 to 16 June at the Velodormo Paolo Borsellino the city stage; from 27 to 29 June Antiracist Mediterranean Naples-Scampia.

Then on 5 and 6 September at the Cep “A camp for the Cep”. The other stages will be around the neighborhoods of Palermo and will be organized from September to November.
