On Friday 10 May, with the aim of promoting the synergy between nature and sport, the Campania Regional Museums Directorate, in collaboration with the Green Gazebo Committee and the City Liveability Committee, the GEA Association and the Vomero Civic Committee, presents the first edition of Florida Sports Day. The initiative, which has the patronage of the Campania Region, the Municipality of Naples, the Municipality V Arenella-Vomero, ABC Napoli, the Fljkam Campania Olympic Wrestling Regional Committee and the FIDAL Campania Regional Committee, has the aim of spreading public interest good sporting and physical-motor practices in the open air, especially among young people of the metropolitan population.

The event, aimed at local middle school students, will be divided into two moments: the morning in the park of Villa Floridiana and in the afternoon in the Duca di Martina Museum. The program of the day includes, from 09.30 to 13.00, in the Park of Villa Floridiana, a spring marathon for the participating students, who will be involved in a route of approximately 1200 metres, organized by FIDAL Campania Regional Committee and “islands” will also be set up of sport”, outdoor gyms, for the demonstration of various sports disciplines aimed at young people and beyond, involving all age groups.
The participants in the marathon will be rewarded for the Municipality of Naples by Gennaro Espositopresident of the Sports Commission of the Municipality of Naples, and by Claudio D’AngeloSports Councilor of the 5th Municipality. During the morning ABC, water as a common good, will be present with gadgets and environmental education information material to defend water, a source of life for humans and nature. The reception and order service will be handled by volunteers from the Shekinà Youth Pastoral Center and the ACCSSA association.
The demonstrative sports performances that will involve the students of the schools present will be: Women’s artistic gymnastics at the Teatrino di Verzura, organized by the CAG Napoli, Olympic Wrestling at the Terrace, organized by the Fljkam Campania Regional Committee Olympic Wrestling, Karate and Judo at the Terrace , organized by the FIAMME ORO Sports Group of the Naples State Police, Fencing and Chanbarà at Piazzale Museo Duca di Martina, organized by the ASD Neapolitan Fencing Club, Chen Xiaojia Style Taijiquan at the Pratone Centrale, organized by the Italy Chen Xiaojia association.
In the afternoon, at 2.30 pm, the day’s program will continue in the Vestibule of the Duca di Martina Museum, where a meeting will take place with experts and representatives of the institutions on the theme “Sport in the training of young people”.
