The Municipality of Catanzaro received the applause of the representatives of the European Commission for the effectiveness of the energy efficiency intervention of the Politeama Theater during an institutional visit, welcomed by the mayor Nicola Fiorita and the manager of the Urban Authority sector, Giovanni Laganà. The rapporteurs of the European Commission, Gian Nicola Loi and Martina Spernbauer, visited the structure affected by the works, accompanied by the manager of the strategic projects sector of the Calabria Region, Felice Iratà, for a preparatory inspection of the Pr Calabria 2021-2027 Surveillance Committee in program today. “We can only be satisfied with the fact that the one relating to the Politeama was chosen as the only work, among those included in the Urban Agenda programme, subject to the institutional visit of the European representatives”, states Mayor Fiorita. “The satisfaction expressed represents confirmation of the good planning and correct spending of community funds, for what was truly a textbook intervention for cost and time management”.

In particular, the public theater of Catanzaro was affected by two actions, financed for approximately one million euros as part of the Por Calabria 2014-20, relating to the redevelopment of the energy and lighting systems. The designer Salvatore Luca Rotundo for the RCProject studio was also present to illustrate details of the interventions – while the works were carried out by the company SA.Mi. Srl – highlighting the results achieved in terms of energy savings on the technological infrastructure that has existed for over twenty years. Specifically, the works carried out concerned the total revamping of the fleet of machines serving the air conditioning systems, the adaptation of the remote control system, the installation of a self-production system from renewable photovoltaic sources and the efficiency improvement of the system. of lighting which also made possible a suggestive optical effect in the stalls. With these works, a minimum energy saving of approximately 22 percent has been estimated.
