On charges of illegal possession of weapons and threats, JA, resident in Cerialdo at the gypsy camp in via del Passatore, was sent to trial; the man is accused of having fired several gunshots at the house of two other camp residents who were sleeping in the accommodation together with his 29-year-old daughter and 7-year-old granddaughter. The shots were fired on the night between 2 and 3 February 2020 from a 38 caliber and shattered the glass of two windows, one stuck in the living room wall. No one was injured but the episode caused a lot of fear, even if after the intervention of the police that same evening, there was never any complaint. The agents of the Flying Squad reached the alleged perpetrator thanks to telephone interceptions to which some residents of the camp were subjected as part of another investigation into a series of thefts against credit institutions. In the courtroom, one of the Flying Squad officers who had conducted the investigations reported that it was a family feud between the family who lived in the house which was the subject of the threat and that of the accused, who was angry because his minor daughter would have frequented JM, the girl’s partner. 29-year-old and father of the little girl residing in the camp: “The removal of the minor daughter had been reported some time before, later found by the police in Montecatini in the company of the man who was resident in Tuscany”, reported the assistant chief Giostra. From subsequent telephone interceptions on the accused’s user it emerged that JA, speaking with a man, said that he always had a weapon at hand because he didn’t know how that discussion could end, while a direct threat (“This time you’re dead”), coming from the accused’s user, had been intercepted on JM’s. During the investigation, the roles of other residents in the camp who had taken on the role of peacemakers in the affair had also emerged; It was precisely from wiretaps on the telephone numbers of one of these that the “Family Affairs” investigation began into a series of home burglaries in the Cuneo area, which led to the arrest of numerous people and the recovery of several hundred thousand euros. The trial was postponed to October 18 for other witnesses.
