Everything is ready for the Lucca-Genoa stage of the Giro d’Italia scheduled for today, Wednesday 8 May.
Path
The stage is almost entirely along the Aurelia state road, following every curve and every up and down. Complex without being very demanding, the road leads to the finish line after Camaiore where you climb the short Montemagno before descending along Val Freddana and reaching the finish line in Lucca.
Last km
The last flat km consists of a series of straights connected by some large semi-curves. Of note is only one right-angle bend 2.5 km from the finish. Final straight line of 350 m on asphalt 8 m wide.
The pink caravan is scheduled to pass through Chiavari between 1.48pm and 1.55pm today, Wednesday 8 May.
