From May 1st to October 31st, two ordinances are in force for the prevention and control of diseases transmitted by insect vectors and, in particular, by the tiger mosquito. (aedes albopictus) and from common mosquito (culex spp), aimed at citizens and businesses and the owners of periodically flooded areas (basins for water storage, excavations for extraction purposes, crops that involve submersion, etc.).
The objective is to eliminate any possible micro-outbreak but it is necessary for everyone to comply with the provisions, reiterating the importance of citizens implementing prevention and treatment measures in the areas of their competence, failure to comply with which entails an administrative fine that can range from 103 to 516 euros. Furthermore, random checks are foreseen. For this reason it is useful to keep a calendar with the dates of the treatments performed.
In fact, any intervention in the public sphere may not be exhaustive if one considers the vastness of private areas.
Stagnation of water that cannot be eliminated must be treated continuously, through the use of anti-larval products distributed free of charge in decentralized municipal offices and on sale in pharmacies and agricultural consortia.
