“We have tried and perhaps at least partially succeeded in telling the story of a Sardinia accessible to all budgets and all targets (families, couples, singles, groups) with a very diversified range of proposals, itineraries and accommodation, ranging from 5 star luxury at the B&B, from the campsite to the Marina Resort, etc. The Dubai-Olbia flight, operated by Fly Dubai (Emirates group) will be operational from 15 June to 31 August, on Tuesdays and Saturdays, with business and economy seats”. Thus the regional tourism councilor Franco Cuccureddu at the Fair at the Arabian Travel Market during the press conference which took place yesterday at the stand of the Sardinia Region in which participants Jeyhun Efendisenior vice president commercial operations Flydubaiwith Mario Garau And Giovanna Lorigadirector and deputy commercial director of Aviation and marketing respectively at Olbia Airport.

“It is the first fair in which I participate as a councilor – declares Cuccureddu – and I am confident that it can be theopportunity to approach an interesting new market: I am convinced that the target that we will be able to intercept on this occasion, with the activation of the new route, activated experimentally already last summer, could be particularly important for tourism on our island. The objective is to work as best as possible on our tourism products, which can meet the needs of the Emirati public, in terms of quality and variety. We thank Flydubai for having planned this direct intercontinental connection, already experimentally activated last year, and we hope that in the future we can further expand the offer of direct scheduled flights with non-European Union countries, in terms of frequency and destinations. and of Sardinian airports involved”.

“That of the GCC (Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, Emirates, Oman) – explains Cuccureddu – is a particularly interesting market for Sardinia not only for the already loyal customers in the luxury sector, but also for the mid-range (also made up of many European entrepreneurs and freelancers who live in Dubai) and for all those who pass through Dubai airport, one of the main international hubs (80 million passengers/year) for Asia and Africa”.

In this sense, Sardinia represents the perfect destination for them, with its seaside offer which, given the summer period, will certainly be at the center of the narrative that will be brought to Dubai, but also with the other products, which can be marketed throughout the year. The cultural offer (with the Nuragic civilization for example, unique in the Mediterranean, comparable to the Egyptian civilization for the originality and majesty of the works, or with the Domus de Janas, officially candidates to enter the list of World Heritage Sites drawn up by UNESCO), the hiking one (with routes such as the legendary “Selvaggio Blu”, one of the most famous via ferrata networks in the world), the naturalistic one or the food and wine one. Without forgetting the tourism of the villages, which is growing strongly also because, thanks to the work in the area, it is enriched with new events, or the attraction of large entertainment events, with artists of international level who, especially in summer, come meet again in Sardinia for festivals and concerts.
