The control services carried out by the Traffic Police are constant, also aimed at combating the phenomenon of driving while intoxicated or impaired after taking narcotic or psychotropic substances; the officers of the Catania Traffic Police Section have reported a 21-year-old Catania, for possession for the purpose of trafficking of narcotic substances.
The nervous attitude of the young man, who was traveling in a vehicle in the company of a woman, aroused suspicion among the police so much so that they were subjected to a search.
The check was then also extended to the vehicle, inside which a foil wrapper containing a marijuana-type narcotic weighing 0.5 grams was found in the front dashboard near the gear lever. A cellophane bag was found under the passenger seat with 9 foil wrappers inside, with another marijuana-type narcotic substance inside for a total weight of 9.5 grams.
Upon discovery, the 21-year-old stated that he was the sole owner of the substance and that the passenger was not aware of its presence inside the car.
It was then subjected to drag test investigations, with the support of the health personnel of the Provincial Office of Catania, while the substance found was subjected to seizure and sent to the Regional Scientific Police Cabinet of Catania for the usual analyses.
