Innovation and digitalisation have a significant impact on the quality of individual life, business productivity and economic and social development. However, many administrations are still unable to offer citizens the benefits of full digitalisation. Furthermore, current innovation and digitalisation indicators, often based on regional or provincial data, fail to fully capture the complexity and differences at the municipal level, making it difficult to identify the necessary interventions.
Starting from these considerations Bbbella Piedmontese company specialized in ultra-broadband services and wireless telecommunications in Piedmont and Liguria – with the support of Prokalos, – a consultancy company specializing in institutional relations, strategic communication and data analysis services -, has decided to start a project that intends to develop a system of “Digital excellence ranking for public administration”, committing itself to offering a free tool for synthesis and knowledge to institutional interlocutors.
This is an unprecedented experience at a national level: a summary metric will be conceived, designed and implemented – the Bbbell Score – which, by aggregating a “battery” of indicators taken from public data sources, will be able provide a representation with a degree of precision at the level of individual municipalities and specific attention on the municipalities of Piedmont and Liguria.
The first evidence of this research will be available on the Bbbell website, in the section dedicated to public administration, by the summer when the analytical and mapping phases will be completed.
The project was presented yesterday, as part of the round table “Innovation and digitalisation: the future of online municipalities” which was held in Cuneo; starting from the Bbbell WhitePaper, a fundamental document for an overview of the world of technology by the supra-regional telecommunications operator, the appointment was an opportunity for shared reflection on the state of the municipalities and their needs.
