On Saturday 18 May Cardinal Stanislao Dziwisz, archbishop emeritus of Krakow and former private secretary of Saint John Paul II, will be in Isola d’Asti on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the visit of Saint John Paul II to the diocese of Asti which took place on 25 and 26 September 1993 .
Saturday’s program
The cardinal will arrive in Isola, in the Villa area, at 3.30 pm, welcomed by the parish priest Don Maurizio Giaretti, by the civil and military authorities and by the G. Cotti musical band of Asti; he will visit the permanent photographic exhibition, set up in the Confraternity Church of San Michele, and at 5pm he will preside over the Eucharistic celebration in the parish of San Pietro, which will be concelebrated by Bishop Marco Prastaro.
At the end, after greeting the faithful, he will go to Santo Stefano di Montegrosso, on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the visit of the young people of that community to the Holy Father in Rome; after a moment of prayer he will witness the planting of an olive tree in memory of the event and will greet the faithful.
Sunday’s celebration
On Sunday 19 May, at 10.30 am, Cardinal Dziwisz will preside over the Eucharistic celebration on the occasion of the Solemnity of Pentecost in the Collegiate Church of San Secondo; Bishop Prastaro and the parish priest Don Andrea Martinetto will celebrate with him.
