Turin, Alessandria and Asti they are the provincial capital municipalities of Piedmont which, in 2023, collected the greatest proceeds from fines and sanctions imposed on private individuals for violations of the Highway Code; the data emerges from the analysis carried out by Facile.it on the data of Siop*, the information system of the operations of public bodies, which also highlighted how the three municipalities have collected, respectively, more than 54.6 million, 3.7 million and 3 million of Euro.

In total, in 2023, the Piedmont capital municipalities collected more than that 68.3 million euros.

The Piedmontese ranking by income…

If, as mentioned, Turin, Alessandria and Asti occupy the first places in the rankingcontinuing to scroll through the Piedmontese rankings, they position themselves Novara (2 millions), Wedge (almost 1.5 million), Vercelli (1.3 million) e Biella (1 million).

Facile.it also calculated the value of “per capita fine” (as the ratio between the revenues recorded in Siope and the number of resident inhabitants) although, it should be specified that not all fines are imposed on resident motorists and, indeed, in some areas tourists and commuters contribute significantly to the overall figure.

The analysis shows that they are also at the top of this new ranking Turinwith a per capita fine equal to 64 eurosand Alexandria and Astiboth with 41 euros of fine. Continuing to scroll through the rankings positions themselves Verbania (32 euros), Vercelli (30 euros) e Wedge (27 euros).

The municipalities of Biella (24 euros) e Novarawith a per capita fine of just 20 euros.

Small municipalities

Limiting the analysis to Piedmontese municipalities with fewer than 6,000 residentstakes first place Channelprovince of Cuneo, which has 5,495 inhabitants and, in 2023, grossed more than 1 and a half million euros in traffic finesfollowed by Pecetto Torinese (TO) (4,028 inhabitants, more than 881 thousand euros in fines).
