The Pietro Acclavio Civic Library will host the traveling exhibition “Book Object”, promoted by the Biblio-museum Center of the Puglia Region. The event will take place on Wednesday 15 May at 6.00 pm and will be chaired by Rinaldo Melucci, mayor of Taranto, together with Angelica Lussoso, councilor for culture, Francesco Murianni, director of the poor culture and events area, and Gianluigi Pignatelli, director of the Pietro Acclavio Civic Library.
Discover “BOOK OBJECT”
“BOOK OBJECT” is a biennial exhibition born in 2016 with the aim of exploring the union between design and art through the medium of the book. From artist books, true works of art in the form of an object or sculpture, to design books, industrially produced with innovative technical solutions, up to hybrid books, each work represents a fusion of creativity and experimentation. In Puglia, 61 artist, hybrid and design books will be exhibited, including 26 enriched by augmented reality, offering a unique experience of interaction with the work.
Innovation with augmented reality
One of the distinctive features of “Book Object” is the innovative use of augmented reality, which allows visitors to explore the hidden contents behind each work. Thanks to the free app “Aria The AR Platform” by Alkanoids, it will be possible to access a third of the books on display and discover the poetics of the authors beyond the visual aspect of the work.
A Cultural Tour in Puglia
After the success at the ADI Design Museum in Milan in October 2023, the fifth edition of “OBGETTO LIBRO” expands with a series of exhibitions in central and southern Italy, becoming an event of national interest. The tour includes stops in Lecce, Brindisi, Trani and Taranto, offering a wider audience the opportunity to immerse themselves in the unique universe of artist, hybrid and design books.
Prestigious catalogue
The initiative is accompanied by a high-quality catalogue, a design book printed on Fedrigoni paper by Presspoint Milano, supported by various partners including Alkanoids, Fila spa, Generali Agenzia Washington Milano and Giovanardi.
