FRANCESCO LOIACONO – In the first round of the Play Offs of Group C of Serie C, Cerignola drew 1-1 against Giugliano at “Monterisi” and qualified for the second round due to the better position in the standings compared to the Campania team at the end of the regular phase of the tournament.
The Ofantini reached seventh place in the standings with 53 points, while Giugliano ranked eighth with the same score, but with a worse performance in direct matches against the Apulian team.
In the first half, in the 7th minute, Vuthaj from Cerignola came close to scoring, while in the 27th minute the Apulian team took the lead thanks to D’Andrea, who scored with his right foot from a cross from Capomaggio. However, in the 40th minute, the Campania team equalized thanks to Salvemini, with a left-foot volley following the development of a free kick from Di Dio.
In the second half, in the 13th minute, Tascone del Cerignola was unable to convert a good opportunity, while in the 29th minute, D’Andrea was unable to head in a shot on goal. Finally, in the 40th minute, Visentin from Cerignola saved on the line following a right-footed shot from Cargnelutti from Giugliano.
Cerignola will face Casertana at the “Pinto” on Saturday 11 May at 8.30pm in the second round of the group Play Offs.
