Swimmers from Faenza on display last Sunday at the 21st National Meeting of the City of Ravenna – 37th Michele Zaccaria Trophy, reserved for the Boys and Juniors Categories. Cadets and Seniors organized by Rinascita Team Romagna. Alex Gaddoni (Boys, 2008) confirmed his great form by winning in the 100 butterfly, 200 butterfly, 200 medley and placing second in the 400 medley. Filippo Cartilari (Ragazzi, 2010) climbed to the second step of the podium in the 50m breaststroke; Filippo Rondinini (Juniors, 2006) won the bronze medal in the 400 medley, as did Nicola Bruschi (Juniors, 2006) in the 100 backstroke and Gian Carlo Duran (Boys, 2010) in the 50 breaststroke. In the women’s field, Giada Minelli (Juniores, 2008) shone, second in the 200 butterfly, and Andrea Maltoni (Cadette, 2006) won silver in the 400 medley and bronze in the 50 backstroke, in which she swam under the time limit for the Italian Category Championships summer ensuring participation, thus joining Gaddoni who already in the previous weekend in San Marino had gained admission to the 100 and 200 butterfly and the 200 medley.
Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th May The Master swimmers will return to compete, expected at the Multieventi Sport Domus in Serravalle for the 17th San Marino Trophy.
In the water polo sector, the season of the Nuoto Sub Faenza Master team ended last Sunday with the 7th return and final day of Group A of the Uisp regional championship, away to San Giovanni in Persiceto against Centese who won by 13 points. 11. The people from Faenza were left with the consolation of having played the best match of the season despite only 8 of them showing up. The troubled championship with only defeats ended with last place in a ranking dominated by Reggiana: Nuoto Sub Faenza came the absence of a decisive number of players during the season, especially from the Lugo component, taken up by personal commitments; elements that could return when activity resumes at the end of the summer. In the youth sector for the Under 12 Beginners team the match, valid for the 4th day in group D of the 2nd phase of the Fin regional championship, last Sunday at home against Sport Center Parma, beaten 13 to 8, marked the closure of the official season, given that May 19th, on the 5th matchday, will be a rest day. A friendly tournament is being organised, together with Ravenna. The Under 13 team suffered a 3-12 home defeat against Unisport Carpi on Tuesday 30 April in the recovery match valid for the 3rd return day of the Uisp regional championship, then on Saturday 11 May at 6.30 pm they will play in Occhiobello against Dream Sport team.
Meanwhile, Nuoto Sub Faenza has already scheduled the summer water polo introductory course for children with good swimming skills which will take place in the pools of the municipal swimming pool in Piazzale Pancrazi from 10 June to 26 July on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6.15pm to 7pm and on Fridays from 9 to 10.15.
