Traffic, inconveniences and related changes. New traffic light intersections are putting the city’s roads (and the patience of the people of Turin) to the test, and District 8 is ready to make yet another request to review the timing to try to speed up traffic, reduce waiting times and environmental pollution.

The two intersections in question are located in the area Borgo Po, in the foothills: the first is between Corso Moncalieri and Corso Fiume, where the green light for cars seems to last too little, while the second is between Corso Giovanni Lanza and Strada Santa Margherita, where interminable queues are created due to the long waiting times between one traffic light and another.

“In the first case, motorists end up clearing the intersection when the green light has already turned on for pedestrians, jeopardizing their safety – declared Turin councilor Bellissima Matteo Tabasso during the last district council – in the second case endless queues are created despite the low vehicular traffic, due to waiting times that seem senseless. It is important to review the timing.”

Requests welcomed willingly by the coordinator of 8 Alberto Loi Carta, which has been sending requests to the Municipality since last summer. «These are not isolated cases – he says – but we will continue to report the problems to the municipal administration, hoping for rapid revision interventions».
