Solarolo and Faenza in the final

Those of Solarolo and Faenza in the Promotion playoffs are successful semi-finals. Both teams from Ravenna won their respective matches, gaining access to the final of their group. And they both accomplished a great feat. Despite starting with the home advantage (passing the round in case of a draw after extra time), Solarolo still defeated Portuense Etrusca 2-1. After the home team’s lead scored by midfielder Giacomo Errani at the start of the match in the 15th minute of the first half, and after the guests equalized in the 45th minute thanks to Grazia’s goal, Mr. Assirelli’s team managed to make their own disputed thanks to center forward Rimini, who scored the match goal in the 38th minute of the second half, when the prospect of extra time was looming on the horizon. For Rimini it was the 14th goal of the season.

A loot that allowed him to catch up with his teammate Sona. Solarolo, which had finished the regular season in 3rd place tied with Portuense, had the advantage in head-to-head matches (4-1 privateer and 1-1 at home). Solarolo’s scoresheet: Tassinari, Mengozzi, G. Errani (11′ st Fiore), Menicucci (11′ st Randi), Ravaglia, Morini, Rimini, Piancastelli, Sona, Lanzoni (11′ st S. Errani), Fernandi. Now, the red and white team is waiting for Sunday’s final in Borgo Tossignano against Valsanterno, which will however have to be faced with the disadvantage of the field factor. Solarolo, however, won both direct clashes of the ‘regular season’ 3-2. Faenza also gained great satisfaction as, thanks to a performance of character and substance, they narrowly defeated Fratta Terme 1-0, reversing the field factor. What broke the balance was, in the 27th minute of the first half, Gjordumi’s goal (man of the match), at the end of a complex action which, following Bertoni’s verticalisation, led the striker Manfredo to the winning conclusion at the edge of pole. In the final, Faenza also came close to doubling their lead with a strong and tense free kick from Tuzio, who forced Lombardi into a difficult deflection into the corner. Faenza scoreboard: Ruffilli, De Marco (20′ st Benini, 33′ st Zani), Gimelli, Gabrielli, Prati, M. Albonetti, Tuzio, Bertoni, Bagnolini (46′ st Karaj), Pezzi (11′ st Marocchi) , Gjordumi. On Sunday in Cattolica, in a climate that promises to be particularly hot at ‘Calbi’, Mister Vezzoli’s team will play for passage to the next round in the final of their group. During the regular season, the white and blues lost the return match at Cattolica 4-0, but in the first leg they had won 1-0 at the ‘Neri’.
