ALEXANDRIA – The 2023-24 season of the Ambra Theatre, Ambrabramadimusicaeteatro, continues Friday 10 May at 9pm with “Faustus and Iaio. Two like us”a show-testimony based on the murder in 1978 of two young frequenters of the Leonkavallo center in Milan.

The show features protagonists Daniela Tusa, Maurizio Pellegrino, Simone Guarino. The direction and lyrics are by Angelo Prati and the original music was created and edited by Yo Yo Mundi, with the collaboration of Dario Mecca Aleina. The videos are edited by Daniele Talenti. “Faustus and Iaio. Due come noi” was born from the meeting – thanks to the focaccias of a baker under the house in Milan – between the friends and relatives association of Fausto and Iaio, the Brambilla Pisoni Foundation and the work of Angelo Prati, for the thirtieth anniversary of his death in 2008 .

Fausto Tinelli and Lorenzo “Iaio” Iannucci, eighteen years old and left-wing militants who frequented the Leonkavallo Occupied Social Centre, were victims of a murder committed in Milan on 18 March 1978. Although the political nature of the murder was never formally proven, it is common opinion that it can be attributed to elements of the far right in Rome, but the case was closed without a culprit in 2000. For a period, hypotheses circulated that the death of the two young men could have been in some way related to the Moro kidnapping, which occurred two days earlier. Another line of investigation, also corroborated by a parallel journalistic investigation by Radio Popolare di Milano, concerned the alleged involvement of the Milanese drug dealing circles, due to a dossier that the two young people had produced regarding the heroin trade in the city, curated by environments closely linked to neo-fascism.

Prati’s text is intertwined with the YoYo mundi soundtrack and contains multiple plots in a story that goes beyond the death of the two young people to continue in the following years, list the facts of the case and draw the threads of a historical period and its dark sides . There are Fausto and Iaio, but also those who experienced the drama of their death, the media outcry that buried their murder under false leads, there is public opinion manipulated against the social centres.

They wanted to kill one of us to kill us all, it was shouted at the time, but the current reality is so different, it certainly takes on different forms and connotations, but they still don’t kill us all like this, they don’t kill ideas, dreams, urgencies like that which become protests?”. The text starts from this reflection with the aim of involving, planting seeds and building bridges with future generations.
