In the aftermath of the inauguration of the 64th Acrobatic Season 2024, which will include numerous stages in Italy and abroad, the Frecce tricolori tour on Sunday 12 May it will touch Trani with the only Air show in Southern Italy. An event that will keep everyone in suspense amidst the spectacular evolutions and breathtaking acrobatics of the new formation of the National Acrobatic Team (PAN) on board the Aermacchi MB-339°. Italian pride and symbol of national unitythe PAN, just in March of this year, he accomplished 63 years old.
Preparations for the show are underway scheduled for Sunday 12 May 2024 which will see the pilots of the 313th Acrobatic Training Group (official name of the Frecce tricolori) sail the flight space of the Lungomare Cristoforo Colombo with the spectacular trails of the colors of the Italian flagwhich will dye the blue sky of the city of Trani green, white and red. For the occasion, lto National Acrobatic Team will propose the complete acrobatic program.
This morning the press conference presenting all the initiatives of the three-day event took place at Palazzo delle Arti Beltrani demonstration, organized from Aero Club BariCity of Trani and Air Forcewho sees how main sponsor Maldarizzi Automotive and media partner Radio Selene. The event falls on the day after the centenary of the Air Force, since it became an autonomous armed force in 1923. The Air Force has marked the epic of flight in Italy and around the world and is inextricably linked to the City of Trani through the exploits of its illustrious aviators. We remember Lieutenant Giuseppe de Robertis, military pilot in the war period, silver medal for military valor, and the Atlantic flyer Pietro Lettini, silver medal for aeronautical valor.

Much awaited it is the show which will see the PAN, led by the new commander Massimiliano Salvatore, with 9 aircraft in formation plus a soloist, drawing in the sky on the Cristoforo Colombo seafront of Trani (starting from 3.30pm on Sunday 12 May) the stunts that made her great.
The Frecce performance will be preceded by the SAR demo of the 84th SAR Center of Gioia del Colle which will simulate a rescue action at sea with the HH139 helicopter. Also planned is the simulation of an operation to combat illicit trafficking, carried out by the Aeronaval Operations Department of the Guardia di Finanza of Bari, the overflight of two Eurofighter Typhoons of the 36th fighter wing of Gioia del Colle.
A full program will enliven the city starting from Friday 10 May with an evening in Piazza Quercia edited by main sponsor of the three days Maldarizzi Automotive to greet the arrival of the Arrows. The dealer from Southern Italy represents another excellence in the sector, recently awarded as Italy’s Best Employers 2024. Radio Selene will support the live broadcast in the square starting from 7.30 pm. In the first part there will be interviews and insights into the event, involving both the administration and the company. Followed, from 9.30 pm onwards, “Beats&wavesdjset with Maldarizzi Automotive” with DJs Ninni Bellifemine and Nico De Marinis.
In the afternoon of Saturday 11 May the aircraft of the acrobatic team will be heard whizzing along the Lungomare Cristoforo Colombo for the general test (5pm).
The notes of concert by the Fanfare of the Air Force School Command of the III Air Region they will resonate in Piazza Quercia from 7.00 pm (free entry with seats) directed by Master 1st Lieutenant Nicola Cotugno and with the participation of the Asd Para Dos Tango Tango Academy and the South Dance Center dance studio of Trani. The musical event will be preceded at 6.00 pm by awarding of honorary citizenship to the Air Forceapproved by the City Council on 8 April: the institutional moment will take place at 6.00 pm in the council room of Palazzo Palmieri.
Saturday and Sunday in Piazza Plebiscito, starting from 10:00 amwill be set up the Air Force village with the MB339 PAN gaming simulator.
On Sunday evening, at 8.00 pm, in Piazza Quercia, after the Frecce tricolori show on the seafront, a final music show is scheduled with the Duni Jazz Choir in concert directed by Mario Rosini (free admission with seats).
The Trani event will also be characterized by some themed initiatives by the DUC. – Urban Commercial District – Trani designed for the city’s activities and public establishments, as well as for the city’s schools.
A great event awaits Trani and all the lovers of this team of young Italian pilots, the flagship of the Air Force, who over the years have enthralled entire generations in Italy and around the world.

Overall, 9000 parking spaces have been identified, divided into 11 areas, from north to south of the city (2300 in the Sant’Angelo area, 550 in the Via Barletta area, 700 in Trani center in Via Falcone e Borsellino with a further 50 spaces for coaches and 5400 in the southern area ). For the disabled, a dedicated area has been identified to the south, on the Adriatica Trani Bisceglie state road (usually occupied by the rides during the patronal festival) where it will be possible to arrive by public transport, watch the Frecce show and enjoy a day of dedicated events thanks to Unitalsi and Il Giullare (contact info +39 371 6965678).
