BARI – The four alleged members of the Capriati Camorra family arrested last Friday on precautionary custody orders in prison on charges of illicit possession of narcotic substances made a silent scene in front of the investigating judge Rosa Caramia during the investigation. (3,832 kilograms of hashish, cocaine and marijuana) and receiving and possessing a 357 Magnum «Smith and Wesson» revolver with a full magazine (6 cartridges), stolen back in 2011.
Assisted by the lawyer Donato Colucci, Giuseppe Capriati, 27 years old, son of Domenico Capriati, 49 years old, murdered in November 2018, in via Archimede in Japigia and Onofrio Lorusso, 28 years old, brother-in-law of Raffaele Capriati, 41 years old, known as «Lello», killed on the evening of last April 1st, Easter Monday, in the Torre a Mare district.
Domenico and Raffaele Capriati, both victims of mafia “killings”, were brothers, sons of Sabino and nephews of the “godfather” Antonio Capriati known as “Tonino”. During the same hearing, Vito Lucarelli, 21 years old, and Michele Schiavone, 20 years old, also kept their mouths shut. The latter is only charged with possession of narcotics.
The facts that brought the four alleged and aspiring “picciotti” to prison are dated 29 September 2023, when the investigators of the Flying Squad, led by the first manager Filippo Portoghese, during a hunt for the “dark” used by crime to hide weapons and drugs, in the heart of Bari Vecchia under the control of the Capriati, they managed to recover inside an old premises, a disused petticoat in Via Piazzetta 62 Marinai and in a gas meter house, in Strada Arco San Pietro, a total of 716 .09 grams of hashish, 475.76 grams of cocaine and 2640.93 grams of marijuana plus a Magnum 357 hidden in the skirt.
The Flying Squad investigators managed to trace the four suspects thanks to the fingerprints identified by the experts of the Interregional Scientific Police Cabinet on the containers of the narcotic substances. However, there is no trace on the revolver which will be analyzed to establish whether it was used in ambushes and bloody events…
