Work has begun to level the beaches

On the Grottammare coast, beach leveling work began on Monday and will continue for the next 15 days, starting from the northern area. The works are carried out by municipal workers with the aid of a specially rented vehicle (at a cost of approximately €5,000). The work area also extends to the concession beaches. “We are continuing the work on the beach that we started before the Easter holidays – observes the councilor for land care, Bruno Talamonti -. In reiterating that, as always, the municipality is alongside the operators, we remain willing to carry out the works of general accommodation without distinction in the public sections and in those under concession to the private sector, as happened in the past. Our objective is and will always be to present our city at its best, collaborating with those who are committed to making it welcoming”. Meanwhile, in the context of protecting the coast from marine erosion, the Marche Region has expressed a positive opinion on the project to lengthen the cliff (from 85 to 100 metres) in the stretch of sea immediately north of the mouth of the Tesino. The work is financed entirely by the Region for a value of €165,000.
