The Bergamo Alpine troops who will participate in the 95th are preparing to leave for Vicenzato National gathering of the ANA, the most important annual event for the associative life of the Black Feathers for which a presence of 400 thousand people is expected in the Venetian city between Alpine troops, family members, supporters. «It’s difficult to say how many there will be – comments the president of the Bergamo section Giorgio Sonzogni – we can hypothesize a number in line with that of the last two meetings in Rimini and Udine. I expect to find at least 5 thousand Orobic Alpine troops at the parade on Sunday 12th.” «For all the Alpine troops – continues Sonzogni – the gathering represents the pleasure of seeing each other again and finding each other again, it is a great celebration of the people with our civil and religious ceremonies, to honor the memory and perpetuate the memory of those who have fallen, in time of war and in times of peace, in fulfilling one’s duty by serving our institutions”.
The Alpine troops’ dream of peace
The Bergamo Alpine troops, who number over 23 thousand between members and members, are certain of the participation of many mayors: «I personally invited the mayors who always show that they appreciate our commitment in the territories». «Vicenza – continues Sonzogni – is a strongly Alpine territory and this guarantees a very warm and participatory gathering. “The dream of peace of the Alpine troops” is the motto chosen for the 95th meeting and the Bergamo section has expressed it with three banners that will be carried in the parade: “Alpine troops, standard bearers of peace – The dream of peace with the Alpine troops becomes reality – Peace begins with a smile: the Alpine troops smile”. Ours is intended to be a warning and a strong reminder to follow the path of discussion and dialogue.”

Bergamo’s candidacy
The Bergamo section in Vicenza will be busy during the days of the meeting with the Civil Protection for logistics and the National Order Service (Son), as well as with the photographic exhibition of the International Federation of Mountain Soldiers. After Vicenza, the Bergamo Alpine troops will begin to dream that our city can host a rally again: «The candidacy of our section to host the 100th national meeting which will take place in 2029 is now official – underlines Sonzogni. We are dreaming that this can happen by virtue of the history of our section which has all the credentials and enthusiasm to propose itself.” To find out if this will happen, however, we must wait until 2027, since the location is chosen by the National Board of Directors of the ANA among the candidate cities two years in advance.
