Interviewed by Mattia Zanardo on “Il Gazzettino – Treviso”, the president of NutriBullet Treviso Basket Matteo Contento he commented on the safety achieved last Sunday by his team: “We sweated it out until the end, but we are very satisfied. Before this match, we were, not worried, but certainly a little tense. Then, losing Paulicap immediately had made everyone see the witches. Instead the boys were really very good, intense for 40 minutes. Credit must be given to them and the staff for doing the best.”
What is the overall balance of the season? “We have achieved the result, minimum or maximum depends on expectations. Every year we set off in the hope of saving the category. And this was done. Then, whether it is obtained sooner or later depends on so many factors that I can’t even list them here. And another reason for satisfaction is that the company is healthy. I say this as a president who must take care of this “toy”. You always have to be very careful to manage everything in the best way. Paolo’s exit during the current season (Vazzoler, ed.) has obviously created an urgent situation at an organizational level. Now we will also have the time to take better control of this aspect, which is equally, if not more important than the sporting one.”
And now Treviso is already starting to look to the future: “From a technical point of view, I raise my hands. Like every year, we know that there are changes, additions, replacements, but building the team is strictly the responsibility of Simone (Giofrè, ed.) and Frank (Vitucci, ed.). We have the task of showing them the way based on the type of company we want to be, our values and, obviously, our budget. Which, mind you, is not “poor things” but absolutely in line with that of the 7-8 teams in our bracket, who aspire to remain in Serie A. Do we start again from Giofrè and Vitucci? I’m under contract so I don’t see why it shouldn’t be like this. I think it’s a mutual desire to honor the contracts signed, so I have no doubts that we will move forward with them.”
