PROVINCE OF ALEXANDRIA – Leave the city for move away from the noise and end up in the countryside amidst even more unbearable noises. A reader one from Radio Gold said exasperatedly a situation which has once again come to forcefully disturb the tranquility he thought he had gained. In fact, with spring i agricultural lands of Castellazzo, Frascaro, Castelspina and Sezzadio were sown and several farmers have programmed the cannons to ward off animals and birds and thus protect the shoots and plants.
The result, however, explains our reader, is that “each farmer protects his own field and this multiplies the bangs: they go on uninterruptedly from 6 am to 10 pm, and sometimes even throughout the night“. The regulations allow the use of these tools but “the problem is that everyone acts on their own and therefore at the same time 7-8 guns alternate and, without interruption, every 5 minutes, explode their shots, and so it seems to be in the middle of a war“. “Last year, as the Carabinieri ascertained in their report, they were recorded 13 bangs at 5 in the morning“, continues the exasperated reader, convinced of finding a peaceful situation in the countryside and instead now forced to live “surrounded by continuous explosions“. Yet, he continues, there would also be a solution, because “a farmer from Castellazzo has installed electrified fences around his field and since he did it the animals no longer entered his field. Differently, although the shots scare the roe deer, they do not affect the behavior of the wild boars who, with the exception of the first shot, then get used to it and move impassively under the obsessive din of the cannons”.
The reader is therefore invited to adopt such solutions to return to a situation of civilization and also to protect investments in the tourism sector of those who opened structures in those areas. “It is difficult to imagine that the stay of those who arrive and feel bombarded by these shots that make the windows shake can be peaceful – concludes.”
