The three days of sport and entertainment in the magnificent scenery of Podere Rive degli Angeli brought Montello back to the center of the great international MTB, with over 700 participants and thousands of spectators.

The first one was good. The Montello begins ad Internazionali d’Italia Series with three days of the highest level, which began on Friday 3 May with the Italian Short Track Championship and ended on Sunday 5 May with the races reserved for amateurs and youth categories, very well attended in terms of athletes and public. In between, on Saturday 4 May, the spectacle of the professionals who battled in the Olympic Cross Country on a difficult, muddy and beautiful course designed in the stupendous setting of Podere Rive degli Angeli in Nervesa della Battaglia (TV).

Wearing the tricolor shirts up for grabs on Friday were Giada Specia and Simone Avondettoboth bearers of Wilier-Vittoria Factory Team XCO, while in Saturday’s races dedicated to the Elites the Italian Cross Country champion prevailed Martina Berta (Santa Cruz Rockshox Pro Team) among women and Gioele Bertolini (KTM – Protek – Elettrosystem) among men.
A weekend of absolute competitive level, made even more challenging by the ground conditions which put the bikers to the test especially in the first two days, then improved on Sunday when the Master, Beginner and Student categories took part in the race, for a total of over 700 athletes overall.

Great satisfaction among the organizers, as he summarizes Martin Levis, President of the Bosco Montello Consortium: “For us it was very important to have an international event of this caliber in our area which brought great cycling back to Montello after many years. We had double satisfaction in these three days. The first of course was to get people talking about Montello not only at a local level but well outside our borders, which will certainly attract tourism from many parts of Italy and beyond. The second is that this event took place on land we own, the beautiful Podere Rive degli Angeli, which after this success we also want to open on other occasions, taking advantage of this route which will remain available. I also take this opportunity to express the full satisfaction of the five mayors who, with their Administrations, participate in our Consortium: Montebelluna, Crocetta del Montello, Volpago del Montello, Giavera del Montello and Nervesa della Battaglia. Podere Rive degli Angeli is equally shared between these five municipalities, a fundamental synergy for the realization of events like this. Finally, I want to thank the Technical Commissioner Mirko Celestino and the President of the Federation Cordiano Dagnoni who, with their presence, gave further prestige to the event and were able to see with their own eyes the many potentials that Montello can offer to cycling enthusiasts and beyond . “ He echoes it Alberto Villanova, leader of the Lega-Liga Veneta group in the Veneto Regional Councilpresent on the key day on Saturday: “First of all I want to congratulate the organizers, putting on events of this magnitude is never easy, but they managed to really create something important, bringing some of the biggest names in mountain biking here on Montello. Also on this occasion, Veneto confirms itself as a perfect territory for cycling in all its forms, and cycling is a great driving force for our Region. We believe a lot in slow tourism, a type of hospitality that allows you to enjoy our incredible views to the fullest, like the one you can see here from Podere Rive degli Angeli, which is why we are proud to support events like these and will continue to do so in the future.”
