International showcase next May 16th for the Brettii and Enotri Museum which will be present at the Institut für Archäologie of the University of Zurich, where its director Maria Cerzoso was invited to hold a conference organized by the Liceo Vermigli-ArteLingua, by the Institut für Archäologie of the University of Zurich and sponsored by the Italian Cultural Institute of Zurich. The event, curated by the archaeologists Francesco Amodio, Martin Bürge and Martin Mohr and the art historian Annarita Teissere, is part of the archaeological days promoted by the Italian Cultural Institute of Zurich itself, by the Institut für Archäologie Fachbereich Klassische Archäologie and ArteLingua, the center for the promotion of Arts and Languages ​​of the Vermigli High School in Zurich.

It will be an opportunity for director Cerzoso, also retracing the history of the Museum, to show both archaeologists and Italian archeology enthusiasts who live in the Swiss city and who attend the many events organized by the Institute for Archaeology, its ancient and rich archaeological collection through a detailed analysis of the finds from which it is made up and the story of the archaeological sites from which they come, highlighting their peculiarities and specificities within the Calabrian museological context. In fact, the conference, which will be introduced by the archaeologist Francesco Amodio and whose title is “The Brettii and Enotri Museum of Cosenza in the panorama of Calabrian archaeological museology”, will be preceded by a report by Professor Stefania Mancuso, archaeologist and contract professor at the University of Calabria and the IULM of Milan, which will focus on the characteristics of the archaeological museums, mostly state-owned, currently present in Calabria. Satisfaction was expressed by the director of the Brettii and Enotri Museum, Marilena Cerzoso, both for the opportunity to exchange views with fellow Swiss archaeologists – an opportunity to compare the Cosenza Museum with a foreign archaeological and museum reality – and for the possibilities of tourism relaunch for the museum structure itself and for our city, with particular reference to the historic center which guarantees a notable cultural offering.
