The outcome of the meeting of V Regional Commission of May 6, 2024 is clear and irrefutable: “the roundabout for the Montegrosso junction remains in place”. The confrontation between the technicians and politicians sitting at the same table gave the desired outcome. The President of the Provincial Body, the lawyer, agrees. Bernardo Lodispoto. In Room 31 of the Regional Council Building, on the morning of Monday 6 May 2024, there was also the President of Unionecommercio-Unibat, the trade unionist and activist Savino Montaruli who, at the end of the meeting declared:
“the Provincial Manager reassured that within a few days the timetable for resolving the problem relating to the Montegrosso roundabout will be available. A result that captures the indications provided by the advisor Filippo Caracciolo and which, at the moment, calms the spirits as for next Monday, 13 May 2024, the Director of the province will return to the Fifth Commission to inform the parties of the timetable and therefore the planning that resolves the very delicate problem once and for all. Meanwhile, the meeting is scheduled for Tuesday 7 May 2024 at the Prefecture of Barletta Andria Trani. At this point I believe – Montaruli continues – that the meeting called by the Reflex Prefect must only take note of what was decided today in the Fifth Commission and ratify the decision that the roundabout will not be touched and that at the same time, as also decided to Bari, we will proceed with the safety of the roads within the territory which would however remain problematic as they are one-way and in any case not suitable from the point of view of guaranteeing the safety of vehicles and people; further reason why the roundabout remains where it is” – concluded Montaruli.
