BUSTO ARSIZIO – There is also the Pro Patriathe city’s historic football club, among the proposals for the civic merits of the patronal festival of San Giovanni on June 24th. The idea came from group of the Busto Arsizio League, who forwarded it to the council as part of the collection of applications in view of the traditional Thanksgiving ceremony. Last year the city’s highest honor had not been awarded due to lack of valid proposals.
The candidacy
The blue and white team is considered a symbol of the city. It has 105 years of historyrepresented Busto Arsizio also in Serie A (12 times in total) and currently continues to keep the name of the city high in the third series of Italian football, with the salvation achieved in recent weeks which will open the doors for the seventh consecutive participation in the Serie C championship. Valid reasons for official recognition by the city for the company currently chaired by Patrizia Testa? We’ll find out between now and next month, why the candidacy of the Tigrotti club would not be the only one among those to be examined for civic merit. A year ago, however, the motion “Tigrotti is born” to support Pro Patria had seen a compact majority in the city council.

The sport? “Cinderella”
However, never a sporting reality. And sport in fact, scrolling through the list on the tombstones of the Gilardoni palace, appears like a “Cinderella” in the field of merit: the only one awarded for strictly sporting merits would appear to be Daniele Crosta, meritorious in 2001fresh from his bronze medal in fencing at the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games Pro Patria, symbol of Busto Arsizio in Italy and around the worldwould fill this gap in a city that has always had a glorious sporting tradition.
