The personnel of the State Police of Perugia, following a call to the Single European Emergency Number, intervened at a commercial establishment in Olmo, following which they arrested a Ghanaian citizen – born in 1990, burdened by police records – for the crime of improper robbery. Once on site, the police questioned the security staff who reported having noticed the 34-year-old while he was intent on hiding some goods inside a backpack. The man, approached by security personnel, then tried to flee, hitting the security guard who had tried to block him. For these reasons, the 34-year-old was subjected to a search by the operators, an activity which gave a positive result. In fact, inside his bag, the officers found the food products previously removed from the store shelves. Accompanied to the police station for the ritual activities, the man was arrested for the crime of improper robbery and, upon order of the Public Prosecutor, detained in the security cells until the direct hearing in which the GIP validated the arrest and ordered the application of the precautionary measure of the residence ban in the Municipality of Perugia.
