De Luca: “Toti’s arrest? I don’t know anything, but I’m very sorry”

On the arrest of the governor of Liguria Giovanni Toti “I know absolutely nothing, I sincerely learn from you. I am very sorry”. The president of the Campania Region Vincenzo De Luca said this on the sidelines of a conference with the order of psychologists in Naples. When asked, De Luca seemed very surprised by the news that he had not yet learned.

And regarding the object of the conference he explained: “I believe that the basic psychologist is truly one of the many proofs of excellence in healthcare in Campania, from this point of view we can say that we are at the forefront in Italy and we hope that he will be hired at a national level”. “In Campania – explains the governor – we have approved the only regional law that establishes the presence of psychologists in health districts, we have committed 150 health workers to the service of our citizens to address a topic that is delicate for families and for parents because we have a crisis affecting the young generations which is of great concern. We have also established a bonus to allow families to use psychologists privately for a few hours. Then – continues the governor – we also made an agreement with the university of Salerno to have the presence of university psychologists at the service of young people”.

“I remember – he continues – that one of the reasons why we opened the battle against the limited number of students in the medical faculty was linked to psychological distress, that is, we note the fact that thousands of girls and boys who fail the tests, after a year of sacrifice and confinement in homes, they go into depression. And the scandalous thing is that in Italy this problem which is dramatic for families, and affects tens of thousands of young people, leaves us completely indifferent. So let’s decide to cancel this damned number closed by the medical school which is an absolutely insane thing that is ruining thousands and thousands of young people. We have hundreds of young people from Campania who are in Romania, Albania and Bulgaria because they can’t do it in Italy. It’s shocking “
