The Tartar Desert in Turin

This is how our comic adaptation of ‘s masterpiece presents itself Dino Buzzati Michele Masierothe Editorial Director of Sergio Bonelli Publisher who is also the editor of the volume. A great classic of twentieth-century prose, almost 85 years after its first publication, Buzzati’s work becomes a highly anticipated comic proposed in an elegant hardback volume.

Published in 1940, the novel takes us to the limits of an unspecified desert. Here lies the Bastiani Fortressan outpost of the Empire overlooking the border with the great North where lieutenant Drago consumes its existence in vain waiting for the invading enemy.

Starting from the realistic-fantastic atmospheres of Dino Buzzati’s narratives, Sergio Bonelli Editore presents an unmissable collector’s edition that celebrates the writer through the talent of two artists of the caliber of Michele Medda And Pasquale Frisenda. The volume is enriched by the preface by Michele Masiero and the afterword by Gianmaria Consaccompanied by illustrations and graphic studies by Pasquale Frisenda.

The Tartar Desert arrives on the shelves of bookshops and comic shops on Friday 17 May, but will be previewed at International Book Fair of Turin Saturday 11 May at 1.45pm at the Purple Room. The meeting features Michele Masiero and Michele Medda, accompanied by the writer, author and host of television programs Carlo Lucarelli and with the writer and journalist Marta Perego to lead the panel.

The Sardinian screenwriter is also the protagonist of a series of signature copies at our stand (pad. 1, stand D44) on Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th.
