Breakthrough in the investigation into injury to a Roma fana 31-year-old sommelier, Francesco Leuzzi, stabbed in the chest on the night of January 11th during a assault by Lazio ultras at the Clover Pub in Viale Angelico after the Italian Cup derby and the clashes that broke out before and during the match even inside the Olympic stadium. On Tuesday morning, Digos carried out four precautionary measures against as many Biancocelesti supporters, accused of attempted murder and aggravated assault. It was the same night the owner of the restaurant was also beaten.
For a residence ban in the 1st and 2nd Municipalities
The measures concern Lorenzo Bernabei, 24 years old, Simone De Castro, 36 years old, and Gian Marco Camillo and Enea Bianchini, 23 and 24 years old. The investigating judge granted three of them house arrest with an electronic bracelet, while the fourth was banned from staying in Rome limited to the territories of the 1st and 2nd Municipalities. The four had already been investigated last April precisely on the basis of the investigations carried out by the agents led by Antonio Bocelli. In particular, Bianchini was found in possession of a narcotic substance, while Camillo – a Lumsa student – currently has a clean criminal record. Bernabei was instead sentenced to a year and a half for the clashes before Lazio-Atalanta, 2019 Italian Cup final, during which a traffic police car was set on fire, and he was also involved in the investigation into the huge brawl between minors in 2016 in Piazza Cavour. De Castro, however, was already under scrutiny for the incidents with the police five years ago outside the Olimpico.
A group of 6-7 people
At the time of the events, the injured reported prognoses of more than 40 days and 30 days. The investigators, coordinated by the Prosecutor’s Office, identified the four by analyzing the images of the cameras in the areas near the pub, following the route taken by 6-7 people who had gathered about 100 meters from the Clover. After the raid the group then fled on foot along Viale Angelico. The four were identified also thanks to the examination of the telephone cells and the findings of the scientific police investigations.
