Standing out today at the opening of Carlino is the interview with the President of AC Carpi, Claudio Lazzaretti (ph. AcCarpi) still in disbelief (“Every now and then I look at the newspapers to realize what we have done”) of the team’s promotion to Serie C, among the professionals. All this just three years after the well-known events that had led to the bankruptcy of Carpi Fc and its takeover, for which, initially, Lazzaretti could not even count on the name of the team, provisionally baptized Athletic before being able to acquire that of Ac Carpi, the historical denomination. The President recalls how in August 2021 it was a phone call from the Mayor that induced him to get back into the game in Carpi, leaving Correggese which he had valiantly brought, in 12 years, to the threshold of Serie C, narrowly missing it. And if there is one thing that Lazzaretti places emphasis on during the interview, it is the passion that has guided him all this time, shared with an audience he defined as “amazing”, also made up of many families, mothers and children that the team managed to entertain. Now the C awaits him which means entry into the professional ranks, sanctioned by the call up to the Lega Pro in Florence next Monday and with the inevitable improvements to be made at Cabassi and mid-table expectations. In the Gazzetta, a large space is reserved for the mission of Mayor Alberto Bellelli in Ukraine, together with the President of the Mriya association who sent the aid collected on several occasions from Carpi to the friendly city of Bòyarka. The Mayor will take part the day after tomorrow in Kiev in the international meeting of Ukrainian cities and regions promoted by the Congress of Regional and Local Authorities, set for May 9th, the date that marks the official end of the Second World War in Europe. The presence of Ukrainian Prime Minister Zelensky is also expected.
