“Carry out more preventive checks for the early diagnosis of breast cancer and accompany cancer patients in managing the disease, only in this way can we remain alongside women”. This is what the councilor for social policies of the municipality explains Palomonte, Anna Annunziata Massacreator of the conference “Breast cancer, prevention, diagnosis and treatment paths” to be held Friday 17 May starting from 6 pm in the council chamber of the Municipality of Palomonte.
The event, which enjoys the patronage of the Municipality of Palomonte, the Province of Salerno and the Alto Medio Sele e Tanagro Mountain Community, will be attended by the mayor of Palomonte, Felice Cupo, the councilor for social policies of the Municipality of Palomonte, Anna Annunziata Massa, the councilor delegated for health and social policies of the Province of Salerno, Filomena Rosamilia, the president of the Comunità Montana Alto Medio Sele e Tanagro, Giovanni Caggiano, the psychologist and psychotherapist Santina Naponiello, the biologist and nutritionist Emanuele Alfano, the manager medical specialist in reconstructive plastic surgery ASL Salerno, Maurizio Saturno, and the regional councilor and medical oncologist Breast Unit AOU Federico II of Naples, Tommaso Pellegrino.
“As a municipal administration – explains the councilor Mass – we are particularly attentive to the topic of breast cancer prevention and we believe it is essential that awareness-raising activities among women also involve institutional events. Prevention means taking care of yourself, through the growth of awareness of carrying out regular checks, starting from a young age, so that we can intervene in time to win the fight against breast cancer and improve the quality of life of cancer patients”.
Prevention and awareness in the management of oncological pathologies but it becomes essential to network also through projects that implement multidisciplinary approaches in the prevention of tumors, as underlined by the provincial councilor Filomena Rosamilia – “In the prevention and fight against cancer and in particular breast cancer , it becomes essential to create a multidisciplinary network so that patients are followed and assisted at every stage. In this context – adds Rosamilia – it is necessary to support every initiative useful for giving a voice to women with cancer, starting from the prevention screenings offered by our national health system and up to the management of the diagnosis because today more than ever, prevention is never Enough”.
