After a long interrogation late yesterday, Fausto Baiguera was arrested: he is accused of killing his roommate, 36-year-old Julio Antonio Rosario Santos and then abandoning his body in the street.
69-year-old arrested
Late yesterday, Monday 6 May 2024, Fausto Baiguera, 69 years old, was arrested on charges of voluntary manslaughter towards Julio Antonio Rosario Santos, 36 years oldoriginally from the Dominican Republic, found dead on the street in front of their house on the outskirts of Pavia.
Abandoned on the sidewalk
The incident began when some passers-by, around 5 in the morning, had spotted Santos’ lifeless body on a sidewalk in Viale Cremona and alerted the authorities.
Struck with a blunt object
Investigations revealed that Baiguera has hit his friend with a blunt object during a violent argument occurred in their shared home during the night. Subsequently, she moved the body out of the house, abandoning it on the asphalt.
Taken to prison
The checks conducted by the Carabinieri of the scientific department in Baiguera’s home confirmed the truthfulness of his statements. The man was then arrested and transferred to Torre del Gallo prison.
Frequent arguments
The motive for the fatal attack remains unknown at the moment, although the police have reported that between the two cohabitants discussions were frequent and heated. In fact, it is not the first time that the authorities have intervened at their home or at the local bar, often alerted by neighbors.
