The Mantua Chamber Orchestra will be entrusted with the final concert of the “Ravenna Musica” season of the Angelo Mariani Association, which returns to the stage of the Alighieri Theater on Wednesday 8 May. Founded in 1981, the orchestra won the prestigious Abbiati Award from music critics in 1997 as the best chamber ensemble.

He will perform together with the Hungarian violinist Kristof Barati, one of the interpreters of the moment, gifted with a wide expressive range and impeccable technique, applauded several times for the poetry and eloquence he gives to his playing.
Barati boasts an extensive discography, which, among the various recordings, includes the five concertos for violin and orchestra by Mozart and the complete Sonatas by Beethoven and Brahms.
He will be a soloist in the second part of the evening and will perform one of his signature pieces, the Concerto for violin and orchestra no. 5 in A major K 219 “Türkish” by Mozart. Dated 20 December 1775, it is the last violin concerto certainly attributable to the Salzburg genius.

The first part of the evening, which is organized with the contribution of the Cassa di Risparmio di Ravenna Foundation, will also be dedicated to the 18th century, with the Symphony from the “Olimpiade” by Domenico Cimarosa composed in 1784, the Concerto Grosso in A major RV 158 by Antonio Vivaldi written in the years 1720 -1724 and the Symphony in D minor op. 12 no. 4 “The devil’s house” by Luigi Boccherini, whose composition dates back to 1771.
