Construction sites underway, inconveniences on Aurelia and A12

CERVETERI – The month of passion on the Aurelia began yesterday with the works planned by Anas for the redevelopment of the road. And for this reason, substantial changes to the road system have been envisaged. Construction sites which will in fact last almost three weeks (exactly until Friday 24 May) and will be carried out by workers during the day. Not an easy start to the week for the commuters from Cerveteran and Ladispola who set off towards the capital every day and already have to fight against traffic and traffic lights. On rush days, for example, it takes Valcanneto residents several minutes to reach the state road due to the traffic lights. Even more critical situation in Palidoro at the crossroads with Granaretto. A chaos that also manifests itself at the weekend when the Romans have to reach the coastal towns including Ladispoli, Marina San Nicola and Marina di Cerveteri. Returning to the construction sites, the interventions on the Via Aurelia will concern a stretch about twenty kilometers from Rome. As reported by the Anas ordinance, in the affected section, which is subject to very intense vehicular traffic, including heavy traffic, there has been deterioration of the expansion joints present on the Arrone bridge, on which work will be carried out in the three weeks indicated. Therefore, from kilometer 20+400 to kilometer 21+400, the alternating closure on the driving and overtaking lane is planned, depending on the work, of a single lane intended for traffic in the direction of Civitavecchia. The same type of limitations will be in force in the direction of Rome but from kilometer 22+600 to 21+000, always on the travel lane and on the overtaking lane. The time slot affected by the works on the Via Aurelia is from 7am to 5.30pm from Monday to Saturday. «Is it possible that the work is taking place during the day, creating serious problems for those who work?», asks Cinzia, from Cerveterana. Reports recently also in Ladispoli due to the presence of enormous sinkholes in via Palo Laziale a few meters from the entrance to the state road. A scenario of constant danger especially on days of bad weather.

CLOSURE IN A12

Also inconveniences on the Rome-Civitavecchia route. To allow for the paving works, the Cerveteri junction will be closed on entry to Civitavecchia and on exit for those coming from Rome from 10pm today to 5am tomorrow. The motorway company recommends using the Aurelia.
