Everyone’s out by 9am. By that time today, when the operations to defuse the bomb in via De Gasperi begin, the approximately 36 thousand people from Viterbo who live within a radius of 1,400 meters will have to have left their homes. And the cars will also have to leave with them: none, in this case within a radius of 500 metres, will have to remain parked. Furthermore, from 6 to 8.30, buses will pass through the 24 identified collection points to collect citizens who wish to do so and transport them to the reception centres: the parishes of Santa Barbara, the Grotticella, the Sacra Famiglia al Carmine and that of Villanova dedicated to the particularly fragile.

And the others? There are several initiatives planned to help the people of Viterbo pass the time during the hours – at least six are estimated – in which the red zone will be in force. At the Conad Space in via Igino Garbini, open regularly from 8.30am to 9pm, a free Montefiascone porchetta sandwich for everyone (starting from 9am). It will be possible to play padel in the Ferentum Arena in Acquarossa from 8am to 6pm for an “explosive tournament”, as reported on the poster, open to all. Included in the registration are sandwich with porchetta and cream bomb (but only upon reservation which expires on May 3rd).

The Saporito restaurant in Cassia Sud street organizes “A brunch bomb” promising “a perfect refuge where you can blissfully spend the hours of evacuation” with a sweet and savory buffet in the countryside. Ciuffo in Piazza Cappella in the historic center of Viterbo is also open from breakfast to after dinner. At Morgana in the Court area for breakfast, cream and Nutella bombs are free for everyone. The Cimini park makes the park available free of charge to citizens with a picnic area, entertainment for the little ones and shows for families, without forgetting the possibility of booking a table inside the farmhouse along the Roman road to Bagnaia.

For those who prefer a bath in the spa, those of the Popes have changed the closing day (anticipating it to May 6th) to keep the tubs open during the evacuation. At the Giardini di Filippo open for children aged 3 and up to carry out activities in nature and with the possibility of welcoming pets. Solidarity towards the people of Viterbo also from neighboring territories: the administrators of the Sacred Forest of Bomarzo have opted for a reduced ticket dedicated to residents of the capital with free entertainment for the little ones (opening hours: from 8.30am to 7pm).

The Trebotti company of Castiglione in Teverina organizes “the bomb tasting” with a discount on the normal cost. The offer includes an aperitif, wine tasting and local cuisine, as well as tours of the vineyard, olive groves, cellar and an Etruscan tomb.
