Antonio Tacconi and Valeria Alessandrini are the League’s candidates for the European elections for the Central constituency. Both from Terni, one an entrepreneur in the hospitality, tourism and agricultural sectors; the other teacher, former councilor of the Municipality of Terni with the Latini council and senator. Among the central themes of the electoral campaign are environmental and energy challenges and sustainable industrial development.
Alessandrini and Tacconi «I thank the driving force and beating heart of the League, which are our activists and militants. In Terni the presentation of the candidatures with the pride of representing the Umbria we love and our party – said Alessandrini -. In Europe we must bring together all territorial needs, such as our peculiarities, the protection of the steel supply chain, of the food and wine heritage, saying no to synthetic meat and insect flours.” Then the personal fact: «I am undergoing an oncological and breast pathology. I informed the party who still placed their trust in me and recommended that I stay well. Thanks to all the healthcare staff who follow me and I already have a more careful look at healthcare and I will deal with it with great commitment and energy.” «Congratulations to Valeria who did not give up in this circumstance – said Tacconi -. I feel ready. I know languages and I have had the opportunity to establish international relations. I believe it is a duty to work in Europe for the single language of communication between the various states. We must invest in young people and their increasingly specialized training. In Terni it’s time to build an art gallery. In the tourism sector it is necessary to invest in hotel schools.” At the press conference to present the candidates, MP Andrea Crippa: «The cabaret artist who governs the city of Terni is the example not to be followed – he said -. He only makes himself known for negative attitudes. Central Italy needs protection for its leading economic sectors. We believe in the traditional family and we must encourage mothers and fathers to have children. A special thought to Valeria who is an example for many women and an added value for the League in which she believes. The future of the national government does not depend on these elections – he added – but the League in Europe has two fixed points: no Draghi, no Von Der Leyen”.
