Many children, coming from all over the region, competed, together with their four-legged friends, in the first edition of the “Little Dog Lovers”, an event organized by the Umbria Caccia e Natura Association, with the collaboration of many other hunting associations present at the initiative with their representatives, organized on Sunday afternoon at the Zac Fidc in Boneggio.
Also present was the regional councilor of the League Manuela Puletti, who has always been close to the world of hunting and rurality: “I wanted to participate in the first edition of this event sponsored by the Umbria Region, because it represents the true essence of hunting. A world where there are respectable people, who love nature, who respect it. It was a very well attended event – continues councilor Puletti – which saw the presence of many families from Perugia and many other parts of the region. Many children competed together with their dogs, with skill and determination, but above all with lots of fun. I believe – highlights Puletti – that this initiative has conveyed an educational, civic and didactic message. Often the figure of the hunter, due to opportunism or lack of knowledge, is in fact pointed out with negative adjectives that do not suit him. By organizing this event, as in many other occasions and activities, the hunters revealed themselves as what they actually are: people with a big heart, raised in the name of the healthy values of our land and its tradition, who respect nature and who are true defenders of the environment and wildlife balance. Concepts and values that must be transmitted to new generations. Renewing my congratulations to the children who participated, to the Umbria Caccia e Natura Association and to those who organized the event and contributed to its success, I hope that ‘Little Dog Lovers’ will become a fixed event for the Umbria Region”.
