Barberio (PD), Galea (Italia Viva) and Sestito (ARCI) file a legal warning for waste disposal in Crotone

This morning, Leo Barberio, in collaboration with Mario Galea, city secretary of Italia Viva, and Filippo Sestito, president of the ARCI of Crotone, took a crucial decision to address the issue of waste disposal resulting from the reclamation of the industrial area of Crotone. Through the lawyer. Francesco Pitaro of the Catanzaro Bar, a legal warning has been filed against the Ministry of the Environment.

Despite the commitments made and the regulatory provisions in force, ENI has shown substantial inertia in treating this waste, which represents a direct threat to the health of citizens and the integrity of the environment. Despite the adoption of the PAUR (single regional authorization provision) and the operational reclamation plan (POB phase 2), ENI has not yet started disposal, requesting a new services conference.

Faced with this critical situation, Barberio, Galea and Sestito have decided to warn the ministry, ENI and the competent authorities to proceed urgently with waste disposal, requesting immediate measures to guarantee compliance with the obligations previously undertaken. They also reserve the right to proceed with legal action to protect the territory and the community of Crotone.

The health of citizens and the protection of the environment – underline the three representatives – are fundamental rights, recognized by the Constitution, and cannot be compromised. We therefore ask for maximum attention and commitment from all the actors involved to resolve this crisis while respecting the rights of the citizens of Crotone and to guarantee a sustainable future for the region.
