A 79-year-old man was hit while he and his wife were crossing a pedestrian crossing. It happened this afternoon, Monday 6 May, around 5.30pm in via Roma, in Gragnano. The elderly man’s condition is serious. The 118 health workers, the nursing car and the San Nicolò Red Cross intervened on site.
The air ambulance also landed in Gragnano. After receiving initial treatment, the 79-year-old was transported to Piacenza hospital, his life is not in danger.
Three cars involved and a pedestrian hit
According to initial information, it seems that a car violently hit another stopped vehicle to make the couple cross on the pedestrian crossing. The latter ran into the elderly man. A third car parked on the side of the road was also involved in the collision.
The man suffered a head injury. To ascertain the dynamics of the accident, officers from the local police of the lower Val Trebbia and Val Luretta Union and a patrol from the provincial police of Piacenza intervened.
