Pnrr, Occhiuto: ‘32.8 million in Calabria for water network efficiency’

Catanzaro – “Arrical and Sorical, the implementing body, were awarded 32.8 million euros of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan for the efficiency of water distribution networks”. This is what the President of the Region Roberto Occhiuto stated in a note.

“Just today – adds Occhiuto – the decree of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport was issued which assigns the resources of the Pnrr for the third time window. Our Region, as will be remembered, was excluded from the first two windows of the tenders and in 2021 had lost over 100 million euros because the former Water Authority of Calabria had presented a project deemed ineligible. This time, however, things went differently: the Arrical reform, with Sorical as the implementing body, allowed Calabria to participate in the new tender. of the MIT and to become one of the beneficiaries of European investments. The project financed by Pnrr funds concerns the efficiency of the water distribution networks of the third-largest municipalities in the Region (6-10 thousand inhabitants)”. 21 cities will be affected – Roccella Ionica, Polistena, Cittanova, Casali del Manco, Melito Porto Salvo, Bagnara Calabra, Belvedere Marittimo, Petilia Policastro, Bovalino, Trebisacce, Fuscaldo, Rizziconi, Cariati, Caulonia, Gioiosa Ionica, Spezzano Terme, Praia a Mare , Marina di Gioiosa Ionica, Cinquefrondi, Strongoli, San Lucido – inhabited by approximately 164 thousand Calabrians. We are really satisfied with the result achieved.”
