‘Together for volunteering’, the event to bring young people closer to solidarity

The ‘Together for volunteering’ initiative will take place on Thursday 23 May from 9.30 to 13 at the Teatro Comunale of Caserta.

The event sponsored by the Municipality of Caserta and promoted by Caritas Diocesana and the Unicef ​​Committee of Caserta aims to bring young people closer to the universe of volunteering by soliciting, with experiential interventions, attention to conscious and supportive social commitment. Enthusiasm and commitment was reiterated by Don Antimo Vigliotta, president of Caritas Diocesana, and by Lia Pannitti, president of Unicef ​​Caserta who underlined the synergies built around the event starting from the schools that will take part in the event to the municipal administration that sponsored the event.

The initiative, aimed at students of local schools, is supported by associations operating in the area such as Unitalsi, Caserta Città di Pace Committee, Anspi, Agesci, Red Cross, Fai, WWF, Migrant and Refugee Movement, Leo Club Caserta Host, Opera Sant’Anna, Comunità Sant’Egidio, il Pulmino Sognatore, Teniamoci per mano Onlus and Legambiente all operating in the area. They will illustrate their areas of action ranging from environmental issues, to those of relationships, childhood, adolescence, entertainment, listening centers, hospitality, charity and Peace. Testimonial of the event will be Mattia Villardita, the Spiderman of pediatric oncology hospitals, who brings smiles back to children and their families when they fight important battles; awarded in 2021 by the President of the Republic the title of Knight of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic “for the altruism and imaginative initiatives with which he contributes to alleviating the suffering of the youngest hospital patients”.

The event will be sponsored by the Equal Opportunities Commission of the Municipality of Caserta and CSV assovoce, the Hotel dei Cavalieri, a renowned hotel in the heart of the city, has instead sponsored the event by opening its doors to guests coming from outside the region.

The students will at the same time be users and protagonists of the day through direct storytelling and the creation of audiovisual material, directed by Professor Michele Casella and coordinated by the Young Caritas representative Rosalia Carfora.
