You should know that traveling in Italy has now become very difficult due to the prices of accommodation. In fact, it is much cheaper to visit cities like London or Vienna than the main Italian cities. Despite this, it is best not to give up and still try to discover how much our country has to offer without risking failure.
And it is in this regard that today we want to offer you a cheap tour in Lombardy, which will allow you to discover many aspects of this beautiful region. We would like to inform you that our tour does not, unfortunately, include cities such as Mantua, Cremona, Brescia or Pavia for reasons of convenience both in terms of prices and distances. And not because these cities are particularly expensive, but because they are far away compared to other destinations, which we have selected, and the airports in the region.
4 cities in 6 days
And in fact our economic tour in Lombardy cannot help but start with Milan, a beautiful city full of history and culture, whose historic center we invite you to discover. As a first piece of advice, we recommend that you take a flight from any Italian city and go to Milan. And not only because it is a pearl in Lombardy, but also because it is one of the best connected cities (if not the city) in Italy and therefore from there it will be easy for you to reach other destinations very easily. Furthermore, the cost of return flights are the cheapest in Italy.
You could even get by with 20 euros or up to 100 euros, obviously avoiding the high seasons. The second piece of advice is not to stay overnight in Milan, which is increasingly expensive, but to do so, for example, in Monza. Here for 6 days you could be able to pay 350 euros for an apartment for two: we are talking about only 175 euros each! From Monza it will be easy for you to visit Milan on the first day, Monza on the second, Como on the third and Bergamo on the fourth. The other two days you can use to travel from your city to Milan and vice versa, to relax or for shopping.
Trains and buses from Monza to the main cities we have listed cost around 5 euros each way (10 euros per day if we consider the return trip, for a total of around 60 euros for the trip, without considering travel to and from airport which would bring us up to 300 euros). Obviously food and paid attractions of your choice are excluded. As for food, you could save a lot by trying to have your main meals in a studio apartment in Monza equipped with a kitchen and eating out only when you want to try some Lombard culinary gems.
