Very intense long sporting weekend for Brancaleone Asti: from Wednesday 1st to Sunday 5th May the Asti running club took part in numerous competitions. Here is a review of the main findings.
On Sunday 5 May, 12 green and whites run the 30th StraLaLoggia in La Loggia (TO), a race of approximately 9.5 km valid as the 5th Corripiemonte test.
The fastest branch is Mara Giovine, 7th overall and 1st SF55. Valmira Pemaj is 2nd SF35, Federica Laino 4th SF45, Antonella Rabbia 4th SF55 and Maria Carchedi 2nd SF70. In the men’s race, the fastest “Branca” is Michele Panza, 7th among the SM55s.
Also on Sunday in Alessandria the relays of the 3rd Cittadella Run take place. The fastest relay of the Branca is that of the couple, as well as wife and husband, Carola Corradi and Gabriele Astorino who are awarded as the first relay LUIeLEI, while the 2nd couple LUIeLEI is the one composed of Elisa Stefani and Zulian Alex.
The only all-female couple is that of Simona Brunchi and Selena Toso, awarded as third in the category.
Andrea Arrobbio and Nicola Poggio are running the DK RACE in Monza, a 10km race while there are four of them at the 18km Bersaglio trail in Sommariva Bosco: Niccolo’ Minetti, Franceca Filippone, Michele Montanerella and Pier Scoffone on a beautiful route, all in dirt road but made hard by the rains of recent days.
The CDS Piedmontese/Aosta Valley S35+ track races will take place on Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th May in Giaveno (TO). There are three Brancaleoni who run the 1,500 m giving their best. The unstoppable Elisabetta Sulis who achieved the PB in 6’46”, Massimo Cimino and Alessandro Scassa who achieved his PB finishing in 4’36”. Elisabetta also runs the 3000m and two men run the 800m. Massimo achieved his PB in 2’19”.
On Saturday 4 May in Bra, the individual Piedmontese Championships for Girls and Boys will be staged on the track. Melissa Gucci and Sofia Gendre (Brancaleone/Junior Project) participate in the 1000 m.
On Sunday 5 May, again in Bra, the cadet Annachiara Allara participates in the Regional Meeting – 4th Attilio Bravi Trophy and finishes the 1000 m in second place in 3’00″90.
Taking a step back, on Wednesday 1st May many green and whites will celebrate the anniversary of Labor Day by running “Del Riso… la Maratona” in Santhiá. Various distances covered, mostly without rain, partly present only in the long distances of half and marathon. Competing in the marathon were Matteo Lometti who was 3rd overall in an excellent 2h36’38” and Fabrizio Saracco. Running in the half marathon were Silvia Artin 2nd SF45, Rita Padalino, Antonio Galati 4th SM70 and Naldo Turello 5th SM65.
In the 10 km Carola Corradi is 2nd overall with a PB of 37’34”, Federica Laino is 2nd SF45, Roberta Bombaci 3rd SF55.
Among the men, the fastest group is Gabriele Astorino who is 3rd SM40, Zulian Alex is 1st SM45.
