The Spring at the Museum initiatives organized by the Civic Museums of Pistoia continue. This week too, various opportunities are planned to visit the offices and collections of the Civic Museums and to delve deeper into some aspects connected to the REVOX exhibition by Federico Tiezzi. From Portraits of the End of the Millennium (1986) to Vasari. Le Vite (2021-2023), ongoing at Palazzo Fabroni.

Thursday 9 May, at 6pm, in the Nigro room of the Museo del Novecento e del Contemporaneo of Palazzo Fabroni, via Sant’Andrea 18, the program of collateral activities to the REVOX exhibition continues with “Theatre between video and art”, a meeting around video art with Federico Tiezzi, edited by Teresa Megale.

Teresa Megale is a professor of performing arts at the University of Florence, theater historian, essayist, curator of cultural projects relating to the diffusion and knowledge of live performing arts, author of monographs and essays. The Commedia dell’Arte, the history of actors, dramaturgy between the seventeenth and twentieth centuries are the privileged fields of her research, based on archival excavation and the historical-documentary approach. Her meeting with Federico Tiezzi will be a live immersion in contemporary theater between video and art, but also an opportunity to retrace the long theatrical adventure of one of the protagonists of the Italian and international scene.

Entrance to the meeting is free while available seats are filled.

Sunday 12 May, from 3pm to 5pm, at the Museo del Novecento e del Contemporaneo in Palazzo Fabroni, it is REVOX Sunday for families, a visit to the REVOX exhibition created in collaboration with the cultural association L’Imaginary and dedicated to the family public : adults with girls and boys aged 5 to 10. The activity is free, adults only have to pay the entrance fee to the museum. Reservation required by hours 1pm on Friday 10 May at the Pistoiainforma toll-free number 800 012146.

On Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th May from 3pm to 6pm the students of the linguistic high school of the Filippo Pacini State Commercial Technical Institute, participants in the PCTO project “Ambassadors of Art”, will be available to visitors to the Civic Museum of Ancient Art in the Town Hall , of the Spedale del Ceppo Museum and of the Museum of the Twentieth Century and Contemporary of Palazzo Fabroni for guided tours, also in foreign languages, of the museum locations and collections. Participation in the guided tours is free, the only cost is the entrance ticket to the museum.

Also on Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th May it is possible to visit the church of San Jacopo in Castellare, open to the public from 10am to 6pm with free entry (up to a maximum of 50 people). In collaboration with the Caript Foundation and the Pistoia Musei Foundation.
