The body of a man was found this morning around 5 by a passer-by in Viale Cremona, in a peripheral area of Pavia. The police intervened on the spot. We immediately thought of a violent death, and – as the Pavia Province – the person who killed the man, Julio Antonio Rosario Santos, a 36-year-old of Dominican origins, was his friend, 70-year-old Fausto Baiguera, at the height of a violent argument.
Quarrel occurred in a building on the corner of Via Torello da Strada where the alleged murderer hosted the victim: the man allegedly hit his friend on the head with a blunt instrument, and then dragged the body out of the apartment, leaving it on the pavement . The police – after reports from passers-by – arrived at the apartment where they found the owner of the house, who partially admitted his responsibilities. The victim’s body was transported to the Institute of Forensic Medicine of the University of Pavia.
Both protagonists of the story, both the victim and the alleged perpetrator, have no criminal record. The police are also trying to shed light on the relationship between the two. It was learned that they were friends: it is not clear whether the South American had also moved into the pensioner’s house to help him with household chores. A coexistence which, from what emerged, was quite frequent but not continuous. The house, a villa with a storage room on the ground floor and an apartment on the first floor, was seized.
