After drawing (but it was enough) against Vadese and winning 1-0 at Multedo, the regional playoff chapter opens for Savona. Four challenges, two at home and two away, to fuel the dream of a step up in category that the fans have been waiting for for four seasons. The first in this round-robin mini-group guarantees the Promotion. Same thing for second place as there were no Ligurian relegations from Serie D to Eccellenza. Less certainties but some chances also for whoever finishes third: here we will have to see if the winner of the Excellence playoffs (Rivasamba or Cairese) will manage to prevail in the national playoffs or possible mergers or waivers.
Savona’s championship numbers were as follows: 15 wins, 5 draws and 6 defeats for a total of 50 points. 42 goals scored and 25 conceded.
The only team directly qualified for the promotion play-offs, and therefore one of the favourites, is Argentina Arma involved in Group “A”. The team from the far west of Liguria fought until the end against a record-breaking Millesimo, creating a void behind them. Against the Giallorossi champions, two 0-0 draws. In total, 66 points were won. Straightforward roadmap given the 21 wins, three draws and only two defeats. Goal machine (68) and few goals against (20).
Superba comes from Group “C”. The team from the regional capital scored 54 points in the championship, finishing second, the same score as Goliardica. Both teams qualified directly to the playoff final, which ended with a clear 3 to 0. In the championship, Superba’s score was 16 wins, 6 draws and four defeats. 43 goals scored and 20 conceded.
In the play-offs of Group “D” the team prevailed Bench. The Chiavari club arrives full of enthusiasm. In the championship it finished fifth in the standings on equal points with Polis Pieve Ligure, prevailing in head-to-head matches. It then proved deadly in dry races. Two away games, both won. A “chaste” 0-1 at Lavagna and a lustful 3-4 in the final against Atletico Quarto at the end of extra time. In the championship, the team scored 41 points, the result of 11 wins, 8 draws and 7 defeats. 33 goals scored and 24 conceded.
In the playoffs of Group “E” Brugnato prevailed. The people from La Spezia finished the championship in third place, equal on points with second in the standings Manarolaacquasanta. The 51 points won were collected through 15 wins, 6 draws and 5 defeats. 35 goals scored and 22 goals scored. Brugnato beat Bolanese at home in the semi-final with a clear 4 to 1 while at Manarola they prevailed 1 to 0.
