TERAMO – Everything is ready for the 30th edition of “Teramo Comix & Games”. The ribbon cutting ceremony of the historic event dedicated to lovers of comics, cartoons, gaming, drawing, collecting, video games and pop culture will take place on Friday 10 May, at 10.30 am. The inauguration will see the participation of various authorities, including the Rector Dino Mastrocolaand will mark the official start of the event organized by the ALTRIMONDI Association under the artistic direction of Alba Di Ferdinando, director of the Pescara Comics Academy.
From 10 to 12 May 2024, the “Aurelio Saliceti” Campus of the University of Teramo will be transformed, once again, into a vibrant stage, where creativity and imagination come to life. With a history that extends for three decades, the “Teramo Comix & Games” has been able to grow and renew itself, becoming a point of reference in the cultural panorama not only of Teramo, but of the entire region. The choice of the “Aurelio Saliceti” Campus as the location of the event is not accidental: it represents a symbol of openness and meeting between the academic world and that of creativity, underlining the importance of innovation and education in these areas.
Big names in comics will be guests at the event. The presence of artists of the caliber of Marco Soldi, Maurizio Di Vincenzo, Valerio Piccioni, Nova, Alessandro Calore, Ernesto Pugliese, Gino Vercelli and many others is a testimony to the importance that “Teramo Comix & Games” has acquired over time. These professionals will not only bring their talent and experience, but will also offer the opportunity for dialogue and learning for visitors.
Many activities are planned which, between novelties and reconfirmations, will make the 30th anniversary edition special: there will be the Comics-themed Ceramics Workshop organized by the Liceo Grue di Castelli, the meetings with the authors, the Games Area, the K-pop, the E-Sports Area, the Board Games Area and obviously many exhibitors in the sector.
The Conference Area will be the beating heart of the event, with debates, conferences and performances that will enrich the visitor experience. For young talents, the Artist Alley will represent a showcase of excellence to make themselves known and appreciated by the general public.
Then, again, the exhibition dedicated to the original drawings of the designers, some of whom were present at the fair, who were part of Teramo Comix. Finally, the Workshop Area will offer seminars and mini-courses for all those who wish to learn or perfect the techniques of drawing and digital graphics.
These activities will offer participants the opportunity to interact with some of the biggest names in the industry and immerse themselves in a unique experience. There will obviously be no shortage of the inevitable stands which, again this year, will animate the corridors of the Teramano University Centre.
Grand finale, as usual, with the Cosplay competition on Sunday 12 May which, starting from 5.00 pm, will close the curtain on the “Teramo Comix & Games”.
